2024 USA Judo Membership Updates

Share:

During the last year, USA Judo has seen tremendous growth as our 400+ clubs have expanded membership to more than 12,000 members – the most in more than 20 years! And we are looking forward to even more growth in 2024 during the leadup to the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. Please review the following updates as we end 2023 and prepare for the upcoming season.

In 2024, several updates are being made to the membership structure, including adding a new membership type for supporters of the sport as well as the introduction of a new event-only membership and expanding trial memberships from 30 to 45 days.

Join USA Judo or Renew Your Membership Today

Beginning January 3, 2024, the following updates will be implemented for individual members.

First Year Youth Memberships

New members under the age of 18 may join USA Judo at a reduced rate of $60 – a savings of $40 for the first year of membership.

Trial Memberships

Individuals looking to try judo for the first time may join USA Judo with a Trial Membership for $40. This membership is valid for 45 days and grants athletes access to any non-pointable USA Judo sanctioned event. This initial fee can be applied to a full membership if the individual wishes to upgrade in the same calendar year.

Family Memberships

Households of three or more people may purchase a family membership. The price for each member is $70 annually – a 30% discount off a full membership.

Supporting Membership

Fans, parents and other supporters of USA Judo can become a member for $25 annually. Supporting members receive free spectator access to all four USA Judo national events (Senior National Championships, Junior Olympic Championships, Youth National Championships and President’s Cup).

Event-Only Membership

Those who have never been a member of USA Judo may purchase this membership for $15 to participate in one (1) non-pointable sanctioned tournament per year. This membership type is only available for purchase online at https://usajudo.sport80.com/public/wizard/a/1218after January 3, 2024. This fee can be applied towards a full membership if the individual wishes to upgrade in the same calendar year.

All individual memberships are available for purchase at usajudo.sport80.com.

Additional Membership Updates

Plastic membership cards are available for purchase online for $8. USA Judo members may still save or print a PDF version of their membership card through their profile online. A walkthrough of both of these processes may be found here: usajudo.com/membership/tips.

Kyu rank certificates are available for $10 through the athlete’s profile or the Kyu Rank Order Form.

Starting in 2024, all participants in USA Judo sanctioned events must be USA Judo members in good standing. This includes athletes, coaches and referees for all sanctioned events.

USA Judo members have a range of benefits including, but not limited to, eligibility to participate in USA Judo sanctioned events including National Championships, access to USA Judo’s secondary participant accident medical insurance, discounts through our various sponsors, ability to earn USA Judo ranks and promotions, participation in USA Judo programming and access to the online training library provided by American Judo System. The full list of our memberships and benefits may be found here: https://www.usajudo.com/membership. These offerings will be updated to coincide with the new 2024 updates.

Thank you again for continuing to support USA Judo. We know that 2024 will be another record-breaking year for our members, clubs and athletes competing at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
