The fourth-seeded Fulp advanced to the quarterfinals by making quick work of Chile’s Ariany Silva, defeating the Chilean with a choke just 20 seconds into their match. Up against Poland’s Hanna Zaitseva in the quarterfinals, Zaitseva caught Fulp in an armbar to end the match with 2:32 remaining.

The defeat sent Fulp into the repechage round with a chance to reach a bronze-medal match. Facing Italy’s Maila Pagliaro in the repechage, the two combatants went into Golden Score (sudden-death overtime) where Fulp picked up her third shido (penalty) 20 seconds into the extra session to end her run at the medal round.
