Personal Profile:

Although Sarah started doing Judo just over a year and a half ago, she's made quite a big impression in a short period of time. Through her work ethic and unquestioned dedication, Sarah is already ranked #1 in the United States in the Female +70kg Paralympic division. This past May, Sarah took 7th place at the IBSA World Games in Seoul, Korea. With that result, Sarah moved to #7 in the +70kg division in the new IBSA World Rankings. In February, Sarah took fifth place at the Paralympic World Cup in Eger, Hungary. She earned the Gold Medal at the USA Judo National President's Cup in Irving, TX last November. Sarah travels into the city from Crystal Lake 4 - 5 each week for practice. It takes her nearly five hours round trip using public transportation. She's totally committed to becoming the absolute best Judo player that she can be. At the USA Judo Senior National Championships last May in Reno, NV, Sarah took home a Bronze Medal. With that result, she qualified as an alternate for the 2014 IBSA World Judo Championships. Competing in her first ever Judo tournament, the Illinois Open State Judo Championships, she earned two Silver Medals. It was definitely a precursor of things to come. With solid results at a couple of upcoming international tournaments, Sarah has a fantastic opportunity to qualify for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio. Her upside is tremendous. At only 25 years old, she has a minimum of 15 years to compete at a very high, international level.
