Personal: I have three brothers who all did judo before me, then after 1.5 years of asking my dad he finally let me join now I’m the crazy judo one. My family is from the Washington DC area where I grew up and went to university. After graduating uni and training in Japan I decided I loved judo enough to do it at a high level and took on the wild ride of being an engineer and a Judoka. I did swimming and gymnastics before and have always liked individual sports that are highly competitive. Judo was a perfect combination of gymnastics, the uncomfortable nature of swimming plus combat elements. To relax I like acrylic landscape painting and writing poetry and stories. I also love languages and have three, aside from English that I am working on. It has always seemed like a super power of sorts to be able to speak something from others' worlds and make friends who look nothing like me. My talent is cooking all kinds of food like key lime pie from scratch or west African dishes and organizing things as I find it satisfying to perfect routines and spaces.
