Athlete Career and Education Programs#
In-State Tuition Benefits
Available for select schools in Colorado, Utah and California
California, Colorado and Utah can receive in-state tuition at select public colleges and universities, regardless of an individual's resident status.
To be eligible, athletes must currently participate in a training program that is approved by both the USOPC and an NGB of an Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American or Parapan American sport.

USOPC Tuition Grants
Continuing education funding, open all year long ...
*Note: The 2023 Tuition Grant application is closed and will reopen on January 1 for the 2024 calendar year.
The USOPC awards over $800,000 annually to Team USA athletes for education and vocational pursuits in the form of tuition grants. Tuition grants are available to current elite, internationally competitive Team USA athletes and all Olympians and Paralympians.
Athletes may apply for more than one grant per year, requesting up to $4,500/yr for programs on qualifying tracks, including:
- Traditional Higher Education
- Vocational Programs
- Career Development and Life Training
Tuition grant applications are open all year, with award determinations being made weekly. With greater flexibility in the timeline, please consider the following when applying:
- Apply for you tuition grant funding at least 1.5 months prior to your payment deadline
- The maximum amount of funding that can be requested in calendar year is $4,500
- You may apply for more than one grant per year (maximum of all grants awarded will be $4,500)
- You must use all of your monies before applying for a new grant
- If awarded, the full award amount is paid in one sum

Salesforce Athlete CRM Reskilling Program

Are you thinking about a career outside of sport? Looking to grow your skills and network with other athletes and professionals? This program will allow you to explore how to translate the invaluable skills you've developed as an athlete into the professional world of customer relationship management (CRM).
In this self-paced 8 week program, you will learn in-demand skills, get hands-on with technology, receive 1:1 mentorship, and connect with other athletes through curated content all built on Salesforce's Trailhead platform with the goal of helping you land a job in the Salesforce ecosystem. As each athlete joins with a different background and set of career goals, the program is designed to drive each athlete towards their unique path. Note: Spots are first come, first serve and limited to 50 athletes.
Tuck Next Step: Transition to Business

The Tuck Next Step program is back in 2024! From the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, this program is designed to help you navigate the transition from athletics into the civilian world. This change can be complex and demand new skills and knowledge and the Next Step program is here to help you learn these valuable insights to set you up for success in a career in business. This program follows a hybrid model and is split into three modules.Join us on December 15, 2023 at 10am MT/12pm ET for an information session to learn more about the programming and the opportunity this program has to offer!

2024 USOPC - NGB Medical Conference
February 8-10, 2024 | Colorado Springs, CO & Virtual
Team USA athletes interested in pursuing a career in sports medicine are invited to attend the 2024 USOPC-NGB Medical Conference! Taking place Feb. 8-10, 2024 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. and virtually, this multidisciplinary event brings together a robust medical community to engage in networking opportunities and discuss best practices, hands-on scenarios, career pathways within the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic movements and more.Actively competing athletes who wish to attend the conference virtually may do so for free. Actively competing athletes who wish to attend the conference in person and retired athletes who wish to attend either virtually or in person will be asked to pay the conference fee.
Airbnb Travel Grant
Apply by December 20, 2023 for a $2,000 Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant
It’s important for all of us to feel at home while training or competing on the road.
So here’s a great opportunity to make that a reality: the IPC and IOC have once again teamed up with Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner Airbnb to offer you the chance to receive a USD 2,000 Airbnb Athlete Travel Grant.
The Travel Grant enables you to find Airbnb accommodation that fits your unique needs as athletes by allowing you to stay close to where you train and compete and benefit from all the amenities an Airbnb accommodation provides. Any athletes training towards an upcoming Paralympic or Olympic Games can now apply for one of 1,000 Airbnb Athlete Travel Grants. Priority will be given to athletes qualified or on the road to qualify for the Paris 2024 Paralympic or Olympic Games, but athletes training and preparing for Milano Cortina are also eligible.

The USOPC is partnering with Bolder Money to bring you 1:1 financial coaching so you can learn how to better manage your finances, maximize the money you have, and put your financial worries on the backburner so you can focus on your training and goals beyond sport.In this 3-month program, you will have access to a personal money coach and group coaching sessions with other athletes in the program. Based on the increasing demand for Financial Coaching, we are looking to expand the cohort size to provide more opportunities for athletes to take advantage of this service. Apply today!
