Junior Athlete Funding Criteria

• USA Judo will combine all weight categories across both male and female divisions on the Junior National Ranking Rosters. Those ranked in the top five (5) in point totals as of June 22, 2024, will receive five (5) nights room and board (double room/full board) and a $1000 stipend for airfaire.
• Non-funded athletes who compete for a medal will receive reimbursement of up to five (5) nights (double room/full board) for their accommodations and a $1000 stipend for airfare.
  • Athlete must win a minimum of three matches, no byes, no walkovers, no round robins

• USA Judo will combine all weight categories across both male and female on the Cadet National Ranking Rosters. Those ranked in the top five (5) in point totals as of June 22, 2024, will receive four (4) nights room and board (double room/full board).

• In addition, USA Judo is considering the possibility of competing in the Mixed Team competition on September 1. The weight categories for women include -48kg, -63kg, +63kg and men -60kg, -81kg, and +81kg. Should the US decide to compete in this event, the five (5) funded athletes listed above that will compete in the event will receive an additional two (2) nights of room and board (double room/full board). Non-funded athletes competing in the mixed team event will also receive two (2) nights of room and board (double room/full board).

• The five (5) funded athletes who compete for a medal will receive an additional $500 towards their airfare
  • Athlete must win a minimum of three matches, not byes, no walkovers, no round robins

Cadet Pan American/Oceania Championships

• USA Judo will combine all weight categories across both male and female on the Cadet National Ranking Rosters. Those ranked in the top five in point totals as of March 24, 2024, will receive four nights room and board (double room rate $220 per night).

Junior Pan American/Oceania Championships

• USA Judo will combine all weight categories across both male and female on the IJF Junior National Ranking Rosters. Those ranked in the top five in point totals as of March 24, 2024, will receive four nights room and board (double room rate $220 per night) as well as a $500 stipend towards airfare.

Funding for the 2024 Varadero Senior Open and Cadet/Junior Cup

• Athletes between ages 18-22 having met one of the following:
• 2023 USA Judo Senior National Championships Gold medalist
• Top 7 finish in pervious two Cadet World Championships
• Medal finish in a Paris 2024 Olympic Senior qualifying event

USA Judo will combine all weight categories across both male and female on the IJF Junior National Ranking Rosters. Those athletes ranked with the top five highest point totals as of June 22, 2024, that qualify for the 2024 Junior World Championships, will receive up to 14 nights room (double room rate 30 USD per night) as well as a $1000 stipend towards airfare.
