International Judo Federation Competition History: Chantal Wright IJF Profile

Personal:

One of three siblings who each compete on the international circuit, Chantal Wright has traveled the world competing alongside her younger brothers, Liam and Arthur, with their father, Arthur Sr., by their side as the coach for all three of his children. The Wright siblings grew up in Switzerland with Chantal winning the 2011 Swiss Junior National Championship title as well as back-to-back bronzes at the Senior Nationals in 2011 and 2012. In 2013, the family moved to San Antonio and she began representing the United States, winning the first of three straight USA Judo Senior National medals as a 21-year-old in 2014. In 2017, Chantal qualified for the first of five Senior World Championship Teams and went on to reach the podium at both the 2020 and 2021 Senior Pan American Championships, winning bronze at each tournament. Off the mat, Chantal was on the front lines from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, working as a full-time nurse in the surgical trauma ICU at University Hospital in San Antonio
