"On behalf of the board, I want to express our heartfelt appreciation to Keith for his unwavering dedication and commitment to our organization and the athlete community," stated Joe Ragan, Chair of the USA Judo Board of Directors. "We wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
Shigemoto is no stranger to USA Judo, having previously spent 18 years with the organization in various capacities including chief operating officer, director of membership services, director of event services, and director of manager/coach development and education.
“Corinne Shigemoto’s appointment arrives at a pivotal moment for USA Judo as we embrace significant transformation and growth,” stated Ragan. “We firmly believe that Corinne’s leadership will steer our organization with both stability and innovation, empowering our athletes to thrive on the global stage.”
A competitive judoka in her own right, Shigemoto was a four-time national champion and alternate to the 1988 U.S. Olympic Team. She also served as women's Olympic Team Coach at the 1996 Atlanta Games and Olympic Training Coach at the 1992 Barcelona Games.
“I am pleased and excited to be back with the USA Judo family as CEO,” said Shigemoto. “I want to thank Keith Bryant for his service to USA Judo and wish him all the best. I know USA Judo is a great organization, and I look forward to helping lead the organization into the future.”
